On July 16th 2023 we fly with a group of 7 photographers to Mexico City, where we will be welcomed by photography students and lecturers of the SPVM, School of Photography and Visual Media. All participants will have private accommodation with Mexican photographers and photography students.

Participants will work in Mexico City for 10 days with Mexican photographers who will show off their city and help students realize their photo projects. During this time there will be regular meetings to look at first pictures and discuss photo projects. There will also be visits to exhibitions and interesting art and photo institutions in Mexico City.

After the 10 days in the city, all participants will have the opportunity to travel through the country on their own, or together, to visit historical sites of the Aztecs or spend a few days surfing, snorkeling, swimming or just reading on the beautiful beaches of the Pacific Ocean. The joint return flight back to Berlin is planned for August 6th 2023. Individual extensions of the trip are possible.

Application

Please apply for participation with a portfolio (20-45 pictures), a short letter of motivation (approx. 5 sentences explaining why you wish to participate), a copy of your passport and a short CV.

The SPVM is a partner school of the International Photography School and has a professional photo studio, modern photo editing workstations, photo printers and friendly classrooms which may be used by all participants during the exchange.

Participation fee: EUR 1900,00 (students of the International Photography School receive a 10% discount).
This fee includes round-trip airfare from Berlin to Mexico City and accommodation for 10 days in Mexico City.

A deposit of EUR 400.00 is due immediately upon registration.
